How long does it take to get up and running?
How fast you can fill in your business info and print out your poster? You can literally be up and running in five minutes. Yes it really is that quick to start tracing your first visitors.
What sort of devices do visitors need?
Visitors will need a smart phone that’s less than 4 years old. In reality that covers most people. We provide free login sheets for the ol' dinosaurs who don’t have a suitable device.
What if visitors don’t have social media accounts?
Visitors can easily use the Google account they used to register their Android device, or their Apple account they used to register their Apple device. If visitors are still not sure how to do that, we offer the option of completing a simple online form that can be done from nearly any mobile device.
What if users don’t have a smart phone?
A technology based solution has some limitations, and this is one of them. In these cases there is not much of an option than to register manually with the assistance of one of your on-site staff members. We have manual forms available to print out, which can be uploaded back to the system to safely record all your data in the one place.
How do QR codes work?
QR is short for Quick Response (they can be read quickly by almost any cell phone). They look a matrix of black blocks. Scan one with your cellphone camera app and you can be transported to the specific URL (website) embedded within the visual code.
What is NFC an how do I add NFC scanning?
While you can hit the ground running by printing your QR code sign immediately, a NFC (Near Field Communication) tag has to be programmed by us and couriered to you. Placing a NFC tag by your entrance(s) is worthwhile, as most newer phones include NFC technology (the same as used for PayWave) and can check-in to your location with barely a pause in their stride. Order your NFC tags via your login in the management dashboard.
How do you ensure data privacy and security?
Firstly, we record the bare minimum of data to maintain a log that allows officials to track COVID cases. Personal visitor data is not used for anything else unless you specifically approve it (e.g. joining a loyalty scheme).
Secondly, we use top of the line encryption with users private data both in transit through the web and when it's being saved to our central servers. Furthermore, access to users data is restricted, so locations a user visit cannot just download their data, an official request sighting a COVID case on a premise is required before the visitor data for the specific time period is sent to the official organisation for your region.
Lastly we use the most recent, secure and trusted Micosoft AZURE platforms which are rated for government levels of security.
How do you ensure system availability?
New technology solutions have the habit of letting you down, just when you need them most. We didn’t want to be one of those providers, so we have made sure we use only the best platforms and systems. That means our systems all run on Microsoft Azure platforms in resilient and redundant configurations as used by governments and airlines to ensure 24/7 availability. As we develop and expand the system, we run an extensive testing program to ensure we do not introduce any errors as we apply system updates.
Who are we?
Sywp.in is the brain child of brothers Brett and Andrew identifying a need for contact-less tracing at workplaces when New Zealand started re-opening society after the global lockdowns aimed to stem the spread of COVID-19. From their homes in Auckland and Wanaka, during the lockdown, they started working out the easiest way to implement seamless contact-less tracing.
With Brett having over 15 years experience in design UX/UI & branding, and Andrew spending the last 15 years running an application development business, they had the essential experience and skills to utilise the latest technologies to build and manage the perfect solution. Supported by a number of other development and support team, swyp.in was created and is now able to bring you a simple yet effective solution to contract trace your visitors or customers.
Now that we have swyp.in online and growing, we have a number of other initiatives coming soon to extend the platform including loyalty integration and more.
